I listened to The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making again as a run-up to book two, The Girl Who Fell Beneath Fairyland and Led the Revels There, which I read in dead-tree form. Book two struck me as much more metafictional than book one, and it didn't grab me and pull me through the same way, but I think part of that might have been reading book one first in community in installments, which can really be a powerful experience. Cat's said there are a projected five books in this series and I'll be interested in seeing how the threads keep twining.
